May is The Month of Mary

Catholic tradition being May is the month of Mary is a very revered tradition. During this month it is traditional to crown statues of Mary with flowers and say the rosary daily. Tradition also says, ‘The family that prays together, stays together'.

Therefore we have been remembering Mary during this month of May.

We have been running rosary clubs during lunch and break times for Reception, KS1 and KS2. These have been well attended by the children and they enjoy having the time to reflect. Our children offer up their rosary prayers for members of their family and other loved ones. We also prayed for the children who will be making their First Holy communion in June.

Children in Reception have been learning all about Mary and why we remember her during the month of May. They have been learning to say the Hail Mary and have written prayers to Mary.
